This page gives an overview of the platforms and tools you are likely to use as a student during your studies at TU Graz to receive learning materials, take exams, or interact with teachers and fellow students.

## TeachCenter

The [TeachCenter](https://tc.tugraz.at) is the learning management system of TU Graz. Not every course has an online course, but very many do. Teachers use these online courses to provide files and videos. There you can solve online tasks, submit files or exchange ideas with others in the course forum.

If you are registered for a course in [TUGRAZonline](https://online.tugraz.at) and there is a corresponding TeachCenter course, you will have access to it by the next day at the latest.

In the [student calendar in the TeachCenter](https://telucation.tugraz.at/en/guides/teachcenter-calendar/) you find deadlines from TeachCenter courses as well as your course dates and possible exam dates.

You receive [notifications](https://telucation.tugraz.at/en/guides/managing-notifications-tc/) or e-mails about events in the TeachCenter. You can manage yourself what you are notified about and how.

More information about the TeachCenter is available in the [TeachCenter FAQ for students](https://tc.tugraz.at/main/course/view.php?idnumber=faqstudent).

## Digital exams

Digital exams can take place in the “regular” [TeachCenter](https://tc.tugraz.at) (for courses with continuous assessment) or in the [TeachCenter Exam](https://exam.tugraz.at) (for lectures). The guide [Taking exams in the TeachCenter Exam](https://telucation.tugraz.at/en/guides/exams-tc-exam-students/) shows how to log in there and what an exam there might look like.

If you just want to try out what an online exam might look like, you can enrol yourself in the [course “Test your exam”](https://exam.tugraz.at/moodle/course/view.php?id=267) in the TeachCenter Exam.

More information about the TeachCenter Exam is available in the [TeachCenter Exam FAQ for students](https://exam.tugraz.at/moodle/course/view.php?idnumber=faqstudent).

Other tools that may be used for exams at TU Graz are KnowledgeCheckR, Gradescope and the Safe Exam Browser.

In exams with [KnowledgeCheckR](https://telucation.tugraz.at/en/guides/exams-knowledgecheckr/), photos may be taken at irregular intervals during the online exam. Examiners can check them for irregularities. You usually still log in to the TeachCenter Exam and find a link to the KnowledgeCheckR app there.

[Gradescope](https://telucation.tugraz.at/en/guides/exams-with-gradescope/) can be used for so-called scanned exams. In this case you usually still write the exam on paper in the lecture hall; only the teachers use this tool to grade the exams digitally.

Online exams that do not take place in the lecture hall may be supervised via video conferencing tools (see the next section). For written online exams you may use the [Safe Exam Browser](https://telucation.tugraz.at/en/guides/safe-exam-browser/).

## Video conferencing

TU Graz has two video conferencing systems: Webex and BigBlueButton. They can be used for online courses, submission interviews or exams.

**Webex** can be used both with an app and in the browser. **BigBlueButton**, by contrast, runs via the TeachCenter.

[Further information on both video conferencing systems](https://tu4u.tugraz.at/studierende/it-anleitungen-studierende/dokumentenaustausch-und-zusammenarbeit/videokonferenzen-und-zusammenarbeit-im-team-webex-und-bigbluebutton) is available in the TU4U intranet (German).

## Videos

[TUbe](https://tube.tugraz.at) is the video platform of TU Graz, where you find videos and streams of your courses.

Usually the TeachCenter course of a course contains a link to the corresponding video series on TUbe, or the videos are embedded directly in the TeachCenter course, for example when there are additional interactive tasks.

With [TUbe downloads](https://telucation.tugraz.at/en/guides/tube-downloads/) you can save videos and watch them offline, for example when you want to study on the go.

## AI tools

If your teachers say so, you may use AI tools in courses. One of them is [LLMduckt](https://telucation.tugraz.at/en/guides/access-to-ai-apis-with-llmduckt/), which gives you API keys for LLMs to use in class.

## Further tips

Of course, teaching at TU Graz also uses other tools and platforms, for example those run by individual institutes.

Plenty of information as well as [IT guides](https://tu4u.tugraz.at/studierende/it-anleitungen-studierende) is also available in [TU4U](https://tu4u.tugraz.at) (intranet).
