TUbe Recorder

The Tube Recorder application is currently bound to the use of a TeachCenter course.

TUbeDrop is not yet activated in your TC course?
Please register your course via email the TUbe-services form.

Sign into the corresponding TeachCenter course for which you have activated TUbeDrop (and thus also TUbe Recorder). In the TUbeDrop block at the top of the course, click the Record Video button to reach TUbe Recorder.

On the homepage of the TUbe Recorder, you decide whether you want to record only your display, only your webcam (camera), or your display and webcam at the same time.

After that, you need to give your browser permission to access your camera and specify whether you want to record only a specific application or your entire screen. This may look different in different browsers.

You will now see a preview of the selected sources. Correct them if necessary by clicking Reselect Source(s). Otherwise, click Next.

Now choose whether to record with audio (microphone) or without audio. When recording with audio, allow the browser to access an audio source.

If you select an audio source, you can test how the audiometer moves when you speak. Everything is now ready for recording.

Start and stop recording by clicking the corresponding circular red button. There is also the option to pause the recording.

After stopping the recording, you can check it in the browser and, if necessary, repeat it (Discard and Record again ).

This is also very useful to check your audio and video quality before you start recording longer sequences.

You also have the option to crop the video using the Trim function.

Now add the according title and the presenter. Upload the video directly to TUbe (Upload to TUbe) by clicking on the corresponding button and/or save the recording locally (Save Recording).

As soon as the video is successfully uploaded to TUbe, you can start a new recording or close the TUbe Recorder.

You can also upload all videos that you save locally at any time using TUbeDrop. For step-by-step instructions on uploading and administrating videos via TUbeDrop, see the TUbeDrop user guide. If you have recorded two video sources (screen and camera), you can enter them in the appropriate fields.

These are displayed side by side on TUbe.

Please note that the upload or automated post-processing of the recording may take some time depending on the length of the video and the current workload of our server. You can see the status of the process in TUbeDrop. Once the procedures are complete, you will find the finished video in your TUbe series by following the link in the course section TUbe.

Please also note that the recording is done on your local computer and no data is transmitted during recording. As opposed to online recordings, the quality of your video does not decrease if you have problems with your network connection.

Known Issue: The date of recording cannot be adjusted by the users themselves.
